Ford City Discovery

The area known as "Ford City" (bordered by Drouillard Road on the West, Westminster on the East and Tecumseh Road on the South), was the birthplace of Ford Motor Co. of Canada Ltd.  Originally a French parish - Notre Dame du Lac, founded in 1884 - the area became a boom town following the founding of Ford here in 1904.  Outdoor murals depicting Ford City's rich history have been created by artists provided by The City of Windsor & HRDC Job Creation Partnership Program and Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd.  Purchase your copy of the self-guided Mural Tour booklet at the Ford City Discovery Centre, 1012 Drouillard Road, (519) 254-4055. (Guided mural tours are available with advance arrangement.)

The Discovery Centre also offers a Mural Art Program for children 9-13 years.  Their exhibit space hosts heritage and cultural exhibits.
