“CANADIAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE”

DAY 1

10:00 am PROCEED to FORD CITY to learn the history of Windsor’s “blue collar” workers as it comes alive through painting and sculpture. 


12:00 pm  Keeping the “blue collar” theme, group will enjoy a ‘BROWN BAG LUNCH" at PATRICK O’RYAN’s.


2:00 p.m. VISIT the CANADIAN CLUB BRAND HERITAGE CENTER, a beautiful Italianate building, replete with antiques. Tour features the brand's history, its founder, a peek into the original offices and a brief video on the whiskey-making process. Highlights of the tour include their Art Gallery showcasing Canadian artwork – (many works from the renowned “Group of Seven”) – and a formal whisky information session.


3:30 p.m. GUIDED TOUR of the ART GALLERY OF WINDSOR where group will view some truly Canadian artwork including an excellent collection of Inuit Soapstone carvings and latest exhibit. There will be time to visit the Gift Shop for that special someone back home prior to returning to hotel.


4:30 p.m. CHECK IN at your hotel.


6:30 pm DINNER/THEATRE presentation of “You Be The Judge” at MACKENZIE HALL, originally the seat of the Essex County Court House until it became too small to accommodate the community's needs needs. This “mock trial” is an interactive event - a great hit with groups - taking place in the original courtroom.


DAY 2


8:00 am ELIAS DELI for a Canadian Peameal breakfast.


9:00 am DEPART for POINT PELEE NATIONAL PARK


10:30 am PROCEED to the VISITOR CENTRE to view a short video, then board tram to visit “the point” or proceed to the “Marsh Boardwalk”. Arrangements can be made for a naturalist to accompany group to point out unique features in flora and fauna – including the “Prickly Pear Cactus”. Mid-September is great for the colourful Monarch Butterfly Migration!

12:30 pm LUNCH - perhaps a picnic at the Park, a nearby County eatery or the Diner at our next stop... CANADIAN TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM & HERITAGE VILLAGE.

2:30 pm ARRIVE at the MUSEUM & VILLAGE for guided tour of the buildings of local significance, and the large collection of historic modes of transportation. 

4:00 pm “AFTERNOON TEA” at ESSEX RAILWAY STATION (includes a brief history of this architecturally beautiful limestone station).

5:00 pm RETURN to hotel. Time to relax, freshen up before dinner.

7:30 pm DINNER at LUMBERJACK RESTAURANT or PLACE CONCORDE. Learn about French Canadian culture and experience a typical French Canadian meal and hand-clappin’ toe-tappin’ folkloric music.

9:30 pm RETURN to HOTEL. Those wishing to try their luck may be dropped off at CASINO WINDSOR -- but you’ll have to take the free shuttle back to the hotel after their big win!
