The Road That Led To Freedom – An African Canadian Heritage Tour

What was the Underground Railroad? Actually, it was neither underground nor a railroad. The Underground Railroad was a name given to the secret network of people and places who spirited the enslaved out of the United States and into Freedom in Canada. Windsor, Essex County and Pelee Island played an integral role in the saga, with thousands of individuals getting their first taste of Freedom on our shores.
