“THE FRENCH CONNECTION”

10:00 a.m. Proceed west to the Old Sandwich Towne area. En route, guide will provide visitors with historical information about the area’s French heritage (i.e. the land survey system, Cadillac, Fort Ponchartrain, etc…)

10:15 a.m. Drive past the DUFF-BABY RESIDENCE. Here, you’ll learn about the Hon. James Baby and some interesting background details about some of the visitors in this house.

10:30 a.m. Return to Riverside Drive, traveling east. Turn right on Janette, left on Pitt for a stop at the WINDSOR COMMUNITY MUSEUM.

10:45 a.m. GUIDED TOUR of the WINDSOR COMMUNITY MUSEUM – previously the home of Col. Francois Baby (built about 1812). Col. Baby was a local pioneer, legislator, soldier and business man.

11:30 a.m. BOARD BUS, proceed east on Pitt to Ouellette. Turn left, then right on Riverside Drive. Guide will point out street signs bearing French names en route to PLACE CONCORDE.

12:00 p.m. LUNCH - A typical French Canadian meal of “tourtiere” will be served while group is entertained by hand-clapping/food-stomping French Canadian fiddlin’ music.

2:00 p.m. While enjoying a sinful dessert of “tarte au sucre” or crepes with maple syrup, guest speaker will make a short but entertaining presentation on French Canadian culture.

2:30 p.m. Au revoir! Have a safe trip back home!
