Canadian Cultural
Experience - Historic Essex Railway Station The Essex Railway Station brought that community Essex into existence as the shipping centre of Essex County and catapulted the hamlet to prosperity by 1883. Restored to its 1887 condition, the Station hosts a retail art and cultural centre, railway artifacts display, and makes a unique meal stop for your group. Historic Essex Railway Station is just one stop on the Canadian Cultural Experience Tour, which takes a look at the manmade and natural features that make our region unique, from the auto industry that forms the backbone of our economy to the distilling magnate who built-up an entire section of our city, and contributed to its cultural richness. More history can be found at local historic sites, and you'll find flora and fauna unique to our area at the southernmost tip of mainland Canada! Experience our British and French heritage with special themed meal stops to round out the day. |
